After the Cavaliers appeared to be trading Iman Shumpert to the Houston Rockets, the deal has reportedly stalled significantly, according to The Vertical’s Shams Charania.
Cleveland was close to sending Shumpert to the Rockets, according to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski, for a future draft pick and a trade exception. The potential deal was an effort by the Cavs to conserve space under the luxury tax in order to retain sharpshooter Kyle Korver, who becomes a free agent this summer.
On Friday, the Timberwolves traded Ricky Rubio to the Utah Jazz for a first round pick, clearing the cap space that they needed to sign Teague. While Teague isn’t a lethal shooter, his jump shot is more dependable than Rubio, who still can’t crack the low 30s on just a couple attempts per game. Meanwhile, Teague is a career 36-percent shooter from deep, which makes more sense for a Timberwolves team that needs more spacing around Karl-Anthony Towns, Andrew Wiggins and newly added Jimmy Butler.

Teague spent his first seven seasons in Atlanta but has quickly jumped from a season in Indiana last year to Minnesota now. He’s a reliable pick-and-roll guard who averaged 15 points per game on 44 percent shooting last season, and while he might not be the ideal guard for the team the Timberwolves are developing, his three year deal isn’t outrageous and leaves the team with flexibility.
Authentic Womens Danielle Hunter Jersey Since Payton wasn’t protected by the Rockets, he signed with the Milwaukee Bucks in early April. He played six games with them, making $35,166, plus playoff bonuses. He remains under contract with the Bucks, albeit with a non-guaranteed deal.
However, if Payton can make the team next season, he’s in line to receive more than $1.3 million. (His contract will fully guarantee on Jan. 10, and Milwaukee has an open roster spot as of July 18.) Without his late-season addition to Milwaukee, the team may not have brought him back this year or handed him the starting point guard keys in Summer League.
